"What is Chiropractic?" Chiropractic is an alternative Chiropractic is an alternative medical treatment that improves patient health by manipulating the muscular, skeletal, and nervous system. Problems in the spine can interfere with nervous system function leading to an array of potential health problems. Chiropractors have a deep understanding of this and believe that maintaining proper alignment in the spine is crucial to health and well-being. Though techniques may vary depending upon the practitioner, chiropractors generally use a variety of spinal and soft tissue adjustments to release built up pressure in the joints, balance the muscular system, realign the spine, increase blood circulation, and restore proper nervous system functions. Many chiropractors also work with patients to develop healthier lifestyles choices. When the body becomes balanced, health can be achieved.

I, as many of you know, have been practicing Chiropractic in the town of Matamoras since 1985. I have been certified by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians and am also a member of The American Chiropractic Association Sports Council. My interest in treating athletes goes back to my active participation in sports in high school and college. I attended Rutgers University and was picked as an All-American Soccer Player in 1981. I led the team to the Nationals that year and was selected MVP by my coach and team-mates.

Since becoming a Chiropractor, I have been interested in sports therapy and proper biomechanics. Today, athletes are very much interested in their specific sport injuries. They need to know proper treatment. If an athlete wants to stay competitive, he/she must stay healthy. Over the years in practice, we've helped many athletes to continue to be active, and have educated them about proper injury treatment. Whether you are a football player, soccer player, basketball player or ballerina; whether you are an avid athlete or a weekend warrior, you may need to consult someone about an injury. We are encouraged by the sports council to utilize these advanced skills, thereby enhancing Chiropractic in caring for the athlete.

We have office hours Monday through Saturday, with evening hours available. You don't need to be an athlete to be in need of Chiropractic though, the everyday physical stress from your job or recreational activities can and sometimes does require an adjustment to your spine. Call today for an appointment
